RENTAL REQUEST and INTRODUCTION LETTER
Attn: Property Manager
My name is John Armstrong, and I am very interested in renting the property that you may have for rent in Keene, TX.
I was referred to you by Chelsea, who works at the Heritage Trails Nursing & Rehabilitation facility in Cleburne. That is the facility where I have been recovering from a major surgical procedure caused by Type II diabetes. I will just need a small apartment for one person. There will be no one but myself, and I have no pets. Chelsea mentioned that you may have an efficiency apartment available there soon.
I hope I can rent this apartment in Keene. I will be discharged from my rehabilitation training and physical therapy services soon. My move-in date to your apartment can be flexible according to your needs, within the next two weeks, or afterwards. I will be able to pay a deposit or advance rent that you may require.
I am a 69-year old single man who has recently returned from living in Mexico to have necessary medical care and a required surgery, and also to live close to my older sister, who lives in Joshua. Although I lived in Mexico for over 10 years, I now intend to reside here in this area on an ongoing and permanent basis. I am an American citizen.
To tell you a little bit about myself, I am a formerly published western novel writer. I have written several published western books. I wrote a western novel titled "the Long Trail", and another western titled "The Return of Jericho Pike" to name a few. These were not self-published novels; they were published by Black Horse Westerns publishing company headquartered in the UK.
Recently I have been recovering from amputation surgery that required amputation of my lower right leg. However, I will be discharged from the rehabilitation facility soon to live on my own. I believe your Keene apartment would serve my needs perfectly.
It meets my needs for the location, the rental amount, and it is also a ground-level apartment -- which is especially important for me necessary for me since I cannot climb stairs. In addition, your apartment would be close enough for me and my sister to run errands together.
Although I lived in Mexico for many years, I am a 100% American, and I'm also bilingual. I grew up in a military family since my father served in the United States Air Force throughout his long military career for over 30 years. I was born on May 5, 1956 in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany, while my father was stationed at the airbase in Munich, Germany, as a Chief Master Sergeant.
After my recent 2025 amputation surgery, I have been learning how to walk with a prosthetic device on my right leg, but I also have the use of a walker and a wheelchair, as needed. While receiving medical care previous to my amputation surgery I had been living temporarily in a little one-bedroom lake house that my sister owns in Granbury. However, she now needs to sell that property. My sister is now living in Joshua with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, so I need to find a place to live for myself very soon.
I would very much like to rent the small apartment that you have in Keene. I think it would be ideal for me, and I would also qualify to receive "handicapped citizen" bus transportation anywhere in Johnson County. I cannot drive a car now, due to my disability.
I hope you will consider me for your new tenant. I became a Christian several years ago, I go to church regularly, and I am trying to live the best way that I can.
My monthly income will consist of the following: $720.00 mo. (approx. SSI when I leave nursing facility) $184.00 mo. (United Health grocery/utility Ucard) $189.74 mo. (monthly annuity income from Pacific #1) $346.20 mo. (monthly annuity income from Pacific #1)
Total: $1,439.74 monthly income
