Her nose adjusted to the new smell of deceased bodies, making her skin feel gelid. It was difficult to focus on the case with the swarming bugs around the cadaver. She pulled out her magnifying glass but shortly after was told it was unnecessary. One of the corpses was a female and the other was a male. It was clear that both were attacked in the chest causing them to break down. It was officially her job to fix up the demise bodies, but she did not mind. After cleaning the dead ones up, she would report more information to the detectives and police. The dead bodies were put into a truck that was to later deposit them at the laboratory. Since it was her first attempt at the job, she was offered help by another scientist and health instructor. The sirens had faded as the search for the ones responsible continued. There were no signs, so they were left to test out the fingerprints. "Katy!" shouted out an officer. Katy was the new girl having to be taught by the health instructor. "Duck, go down!" he tried to say, but Katy was too busy focusing on the corpses to respond. A bullet flew past her short hair as if only centimeters away. Her heart beat fast as she scurried for cover. Moments after, moment shots were aimed, but no one was down. "Give me what I want," said the outlaw, pointing to an elder man clutching his cane. The outlaw repeated his words more clearly, but the elder man was unable to notice. Members of the FBI were planning to sneak up behind him slowly, but their footsteps were too loud on the concrete to be unnoticed. His back turned to the elder man and inspected the agents. "I never meant for this to happen, it is just what he wanted me to do," he confessed, one agent replied under their breath, "And that is what they always say," He put his gun down and trembled to the ground. His hands were in the air, waiting for the handcuffs to go onto his wrist. He shuddered softly, "I failed him," Many of the agents tried questioning him, but no answers were able to spew out except for the last attempt. "He said I need to kill her," he launched his fingers near a figure behind a bush, it was the new girl again, Katy. "She has something he needs," he shuddered again. Many eyes were spectating Katy. This seemed suspicious of her being connected. To her surprise, on her first day of the job, she was being interrogated. Today she would have to visit a little place before she would be able to proceed to her workspace. "You are not being charged with anything, we just want you to acknowledge you have been a witness, just somehow. You have your respect to say anything helpful for finding this out." said a man with funny glasses, he shuffled a few papers around. "Speak of your mind, Katy." Katy knew people were listening in, but she had no clue what took place. "I'm sorry for my bland background information, but I know nothing about any suspicious behavior!" The investigator heaved a sigh, "So you have now witnessed any of the following of," and he said the criminal activity, but she had experienced none. "I do wish to be a help, but it turns out I am clueless." Katy looked down at her shoes, she peered at the mirror again, hoping she would be released. "Ma'am, since you did not do your duty and give us a full report, our chosen option is to fire you." Tears poured down from her eyes. Her face was pale, trying to get up was just a pain. Her cheeks were rosy. Everywhere she would fight for a job, fight for her rights as a woman when she finally had the option, it was now just gone. Her head began to ache as she said she was sorry. All the jobs that were left were basic, just a cashier or so. "Before we release you, there is important information the crew has to share with you." It seemed easier to get up now, maybe it was a going-away present before a welcome present. She was quite wrong when she opened the door to see what it was. "Surprise," exclaimed each and every one. Her eyes darted to every sign, "Welcome," "You were pranked," "We love you!" She started laughing, it was amazing. Slowly she remembered they still had someone to find, so she spoke up, "We still need to find that guy." After she said that people were laughing their heads off. "Aren't people supposed to be serious with this?" More laughter went loose, "Happy April Fools, the whole mission was a joke," someone finally said. Everyone cracked up after this part. Now it would be back to the smell of different dead bodies.
