I walked slowly as I followed the mysterious woman, who I’ve been following for hours now. Things were getting strange. It seemed as if she was just walking around, or that’s what I thought. I turned the corner and she was gone.

“I lost her again!” I exclaimed, “Ugh! I can never get her!”

I decided that it was better getting back to my lodging, where I could think peacefully and get back to work. When I got home I couldn’t sleep even though it was past midnight, I just didn’t want to accept that I couldn’t catch that criminal! I’ve been looking for this woman who calls herself as Lady Vilee, for almost a month. But I can’t complain, nobody said this job was easy. I’m one of the most famous detectives of the country, my name is Josephine Granger and I’m twenty-seven years old, I became a detective five years ago. Some people might think I’m obsessed with getting her, but I had my reasons. I wanted to catch this lady more than anyone else because, not only did she commit crimes around the world, but two years ago she messed with my family.’

After some time I went to bed, I knew that tomorrow I would just make the same thing that I did today, but this time I wouldn’t let her slip away from me. Next morning I woke up more tired than ever, but I couldn’t let that stop me from working today, so I went directly to the coffee shop in front of my lodgings and ordered a cup of coffee like everyday. “The same as always Miss Granger?” asked Lucy the lady attending me. “Yes Lucy thank you” I responded. After Lucy brought me the coffee, I had breakfast like everyday, but something changed today. As I ate my toast I saw a man entering the coffee shop. There was nothing strange about him but for some reason he looked familiar. He seated at the table next to mine, and I didn’t care until I felt he was looking at me, so I turned around and saw him signaling me to go outside. That’s when I felt strange, who was he? And what did he want? I went outside and when I saw him face to face I understood who he was and what he wanted. “Hi Josephine” he said. “What do you want Marcus?” I asked rudely. “Why so mad Josy?” he said “Aren’t you happy to see your fellow detective?” “I wouldn’t say happy. So why did the agency send you?” “Well, Mary thinks you are getting obsessed with catching Lady Vilee” he said calmly, “And she send me to help you” “I don’t need help, but I guess having you here it’s not that bad” I said doubtingly, “C’mon we are going to the bar” “Why?” “Because that’s where Lady Vilee goes everyday” I said as we started walking.

Marcus asked how I knew this and it was easy, I got the information that she went every day and I started going with the hope of finding clues. Today was different because Marcus went with me but I didn’t actually care. Marcus and I examined the area for hours but we weren’t able to find anything that could lead us to Lady Vilee. Tired of looking in that filthy bar we thought that it was better going back to my apartment and continue planning for the next day.

“So tell me, what have you been doing all this time?” Marcus asked me when we got to my apartment, “Because it looks as if you’ve been working all day and night” “That’s pretty much what I do Marcus, as you know I want to catch Lady Vilee” I answered as if it was obvious “Well you can leave I’m going to sleep, see you tomorrow”

Days passed and Marcus and I worked together to catch Lady Vilee. Every day we would go to the coffee shop, have breakfast, go to the bar and after that we would go back to my apartment and continue with our investigations. Everything seemed useless the first week, but after some time we got more clues of what our criminal was planning. It seems that Lady Vilee was planning to meet with other criminal leaders to make an alliance and create the greatest criminal group ever. Some clues gave us an idea of where the meeting would be, we had seen that every place Lady Vilee went had a pattern at the end. Considering this pattern we noticed that after going to different places she disappeared in the same street I lost her two weeks ago, so we got the idea that that street had something to do with the meeting she was planning.

After planning what we would do, Marcus and I decided to follow Lady Vilee all day and when she got to the street we will enter right after she did. “Are you ready to do this?” I asked him while we were eating breakfast. “I’m always ready” he answered proudly, “But first I have a question I’ve been trying to ask you, why did you become a detective?” “Uhm….” I muttered, I didn’t know what to answer, but then I started telling him my story. << When I was sixteen my father was almost killed by one of the most famous criminals of that time, I wanted to avenge him so I started training to become a police officer. But then I noticed that there was something I wanted more than being police, I started reading about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. I had bought the books but at the end I wanted to become a detective more than anything else. My sister wasn’t really happy with it, and the reason. Is still unknown for me. I trained hard to become a detective for when I was old enough, but something unexpected happened. Five years ago some months before I entered the agency, my sister went missing, I looked for her everywhere but I wasn’t able to find her. I was heartbroken so I decided to increase the difficulty of my training. After two months I became an official detective and I continued looking for my sister. >>

After finishing breakfast we got up and started working. We walked for hours until we got to the building we were looking for, but something made us hesitate. The building didn’t have any security. Wouldn’t Lady Vilee have security to check the building? “Something’s odd here Jo” said Marcus. “I know, be alert, we don’t know what could happen” I said as we continued walking. When we least expected a man came running to us and gave a good punch to Marcus, fortunately for me I was able to avoid him. This is what I was talking about, I knew Lady Vilee wasn’t that dumb to leave the place without guards, things were really getting interesting. It was a good fight, and after about ten minutes I knocked him down and went to wake up Marcus.

“Everything okay?” I asked him while I helped him stand up. “Yeah, I feel like a boxing bag” he answered, and when he started walking he said “Uh Josy, maybe you would like to turn around right now” I didn’t know what he was talking about until I turned around and saw ten men, running towards us like a herd of rhinos. I was ready to fight and so was Marcus.

Things weren’t going well for us I must say, I thought that we could defeat them, but I was wrong. As everytime we knocked down one three more came in his place, I knew that we couldn’t win, so we surrendered and let them take us with their boss, Lady Vilee. They carried us inside and there she was, Lady Vilee was talking with five more people. She stopped talking when they saw us and ordered the guards to tie us in a chair. “So, who do we have here?” she asked, somehow her voice seemed familiar, “Don’t tell me that these are the two detectives who are looking for me? They are so pathetic!” “We’ll see who is pathetic after we get out of here!” I yelled “You won’t win this time Vilee.” All the criminals were laughing at us, but Lady Vilee wasn’t laughing she seemed disconcerted and confused as if she just had seen a ghost. After a minute she murmured: “That voice… could it be? May I ask who are you?” “Why do you want to know that?” asked Marcus confused. “My name is Josephine Granger, I’m a detective, and the one that will get you to court” I answered calmly. “So it’s really you, Josephine, what a surprise” she said looking at me. “I’m sorry but am I supposed to know what that means? Because from what I’m hearing it looks like you think I know you” Everything went silence and I didn’t know what was going on, five minutes ago the most famous criminal of the country was laughing at me and now she was just looking at me and thinking we knew each other. “So you don’t remember me Josily, that’s sad” she lamented “I thought that a Granger never forgets”

Josily how did she knew that nickname?! And what was she talking about?! I don't knew her do I? But she was right in something “A Granger never forgets” was my family motto, something was odd here. “How do you know my family motto?! And that nickname! How do you know it?! Only my sister and mother called me that way!” I said and that’s when I realised what was happening, I knew who Lady Vilee was “Only my mother and sister….. Liv?!” “Long time no see, sister” said Lady Vilee or Liv, my sister I didn't want to accept it but it was true I was standing in front of my sister. “Hi Liv, or should I call you Lady Vilee?” I snapped at her. When she disappeared I thought our encounter will be a warm welcome but no. The second I saw what she became I got mad, I untied myself and start fighting her. Then I noticed that Marcus also untied himself and we started fighting all the criminals in the room. I really didn’t care about the other criminals this was between my sister and I. “Why Liv?! I thought you liked being with us” I cried. I didn't know if I was sad or angry “You really thought that?! Ha! I hated being in that house, that's why I escaped and became a criminal” I couldn't believe my ears, I was totally heartbroken and decided to fight her and hand her over to the agency. She was no longer my sister. Things were going good for Marcus and me, most of the criminals were unconscious and my sister was the only one left. The fight even, we were two sisters fighting against each other, two sisters who no longer wanted to be together. I thought I would catch her but she escaped again, the last thing I heard from my sister was “We’ll meet again Josephine!”
